Twenty minutes, and it starts telling you things.
dotpano is an inventory for people who shoot virtual tours. This page is the short version of how to set one up: what it needs from you, in what order, and what it gives back once it has it.
What it is for
Three questions that get expensive quietly.
Deliver enough tours and you are running a hosting business whether or not you decided to. These are the things a spreadsheet stops answering somewhere around the fortieth tour.
What is due
Agreements coming up for renewal, with the client and the amount, in time to invoice rather than six weeks after the term ran out.
What went dark
Tours that were live and have stopped answering — found by you rather than by the client who put it on their listing.
What you host for nothing
Live tours with no agreement behind them, and what that is costing you a month. Usually the number nobody has ever added up.
Setting it up
Three steps, and only the second takes any time.
Make a workspace
Your name and what your studio is called. The organisation becomes the workspace name and you can rename it later. Every new account starts on fourteen days of the whole product, with no card.
Put your tours in
A name and the link the tour already lives at. Nothing to connect, no key to paste, and any platform — the two we integrate with are not the only ones that count. Start with the ten you would be sorriest to lose track of.
Say who pays, and when it ends
A client and a term end. That is the whole of what dotpano needs before it can be useful, and it is why the renewals screen has anything on it at all.
A tour with no term end is not a mistake. It sits in the portfolio and stays out of the renewals queue, which is correct — you cannot renew something that was never on a term. Add the date whenever you know it.
What it costs to try
The page half is free. Permanently.
Free, with no card
A public page of your work at an address you choose, with up to ten tours on it. It is a plan rather than a trial that runs out. Nothing is tracked on it — ten tours on a page is not ten tours tracked, and reading it as the latter is how people pick the wrong plan.
Fourteen days of the rest
Every new workspace opens on a Creator trial with the whole product and no card asked for. If it ends without you choosing a plan, the workspace becomes Free — your records stay exactly as they are and the page keeps working.
Importing is not ready yet. A browser extension that reads your Realsee dashboard and brings the tours across is built and proven against a real account, and it is waiting on store review. Until it lands, tours go in by hand — which is why the step above says to start with ten rather than four hundred.
